Taekwondo
Olympic style Taekwondo is the main division of
Taekwondo Team Saja. We offer training for members
of any age and ability.
Our day to day training is focused on a mix of
traditional Taekwondo, general fitness and as much
fun as possible.
We think that our mix of traditional values mixed with
general fitness, flexibility and fun activities can offer
everyone the benefits of Taekwondo and a great social
sporting community, where everyone from young to
old can thrive.
Performance
Our TTS instructors have competed on a regional,
national and international level and have a vast
amount of active experience at competitons.
Fabian, being a qualified Level 2 National Poomsae
Judge and member of the 2019 EUSA GBR Squad, is
leading our performance squad. TTS is the top address
for performance-based Taekwondo in Birmingham.
Self-Defence
Self-defence is a key element of most martial arts and
as such part of Taekwondo. We include self-defence in
our regular training sessions, but we also offer
separate self-defence classes e.g. in co-operation with
the Guild of Students at the University of Birmingham.
Our classes, whether it be Taekwondo or self-defence
wil stregthen the confidence of our members and
increase the ability to defenc themselves.

About
Taekwondo Team Saja (TTS) was founded in October 2017 so that five athletes from three different German clubs could compete as on team at the WTF tournament
Gaiana Trophy in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Founder and coach Fabian set up the team together with Lea Wietschorke, Rilana Wörner, Daniel Rau and Ameli Wörner. After the
tournament Taekwondo Team Saja acted as a community of Taekwondo athletes to share knowledge between clubs and athletes. In 2018, founder Fabian moved to
Birmigham and during the Covid-19 pandemic Taekwondo Saja offered online training plans and sessions for members from many different clubs in Germany and the UK.
In August 2021 Taekwondo Team Saja became a licensed and registered club with British Taekwondo and started training in Grove Hall in Harborne.
TTS is part of the United Taekwondo Association (UTA), a group of clubs lead by Grandmaster Shin (9th Dan). As such all our members enjoy the benefits of being part of
the UTA, such as seminars, dan-gradings and Poomsae squad training.
‘Wearing a black belt does not mean you are invicible…
It means you never gave up, worked past the pain, overcame the disappointments, didn´t cave in to your doubts,
faced your fears, and learned enough to realise how little you actually know.’
